At Campfire Lodge, fly fishers come away with more than a fishing experience: they spend their days in stunning glacial valleys and wooded forests, and gain a greater understanding of the flora, fauna and history of this part of Montana. Located in the heart of Greater Yellowstone's world-famous fly-fishing country, Campfire Lodge is a fly fisher's paradise. The pristine waters in this area support abundant populations of wild rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook trout. From the mighty Madison, to Hebgen Lake and the Yellowstone National Park Rivers, to the lakes formed by earthquakes thousands of years ago, there are more waters than a fisherman could cover in a lifetime.
The summer months see an abundance of insect life creating ideal conditions for the dry fly specialist. In July and August, water levels drop and wading is easier, runs are better defined. The last week of September sees the brown trout come out of the lakes and head up rivers, notable the Madison in Yellowstone Park. This is the season for anglers who enjoy having miles of river all to themselves.
To increase our guests enjoyment of this wonderful environment, Campfire Lodge is pleased to offer guided fly fishing trips through Willow Springs Outfitters's Gordon Patton, a well known and beloved outfitter and fly fishing guides in Montana's fabled Madison Valley.
